Why do we share the Gospel?
According to 1 Corinthians 3:6-9, we play an important role in bringing the good news of Jesus to others. God could do it alone, however He includes us in His plan as it blesses both the deliverer and the one receiving the news.
To bring awareness. Many are seeking the light, however the world in which we live is full of distractions and conflicting messages. You may be able to bring someone out of the dark and into the light by inviting them to church, being a friend, sharing God’s love purely and openly. This important first step could lead them to continue on their faith journey.
To give hope. Look around — people are often preoccupied with finding joy, peace, and comfort in places that leave them empty and unfulfilled. Only one can bring true joy, peace, and comfort. By sharing the Word of God, you will help them find hope in the promises of Jesus Christ. Some hopeful scriptures you can share are 1 John 5:13-14, Ephesians 2:8-10, 1 Peter 1:3-6, and John 4:13-14.
Because God commands it. The Bible is clear about our responsibility as Christians to make God’s Word known. The Great Commission was a command given by Jesus himself to his followers: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19-20.
